Reporting Abuse

If you suspect a child is being abused, it should be reported to Medina County Job and Family Services (MCJFS) at

If a child is in immediate danger, please call 911.

The longer abuse continues, the greater the potential for serious and long-term emotional and psychological difficulties are for the child.

Human Trafficking

Our Mission:

To educate and promote for the prevention and end of human trafficking and to provide help and networks for victims to begin healing.

The Medina County Coalition Against Human Trafficking is a group of concerned individuals who have come together to raise awareness & educate the Medina community about Human Trafficking. The group is also creating a Medina County network of local agencies to respond and help Human Trafficking victims.

While Toledo, the No. 4 largest hotbed for human trafficking in the nation - might seem far away, the same problems experienced there are starting to become more prevalent here in Medina County. According to the Ohio Human Trafficking Task Forse, the most common age in Ohio for children to become victims of trafficking is 13 years old, and the number of Ohio children who become victims of human trafficking each year could fill a large high school.

What is Human Trafficking?

  • Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery where people profit from the control and exploitation of others.
  • Victims are forced, defrauded, or coerced into trafficking. Even if victims initially offer consent, that consent is rendered meaningless by the actions of the traffickers to exploit them for labor, services, or commercial sex.

If you find yourself wanting to lend a hand in ending human trafficking, please join us and attend a general meeting. We hold our meetings monthly on the fourth Thursday at 9:00 am.   Please email humantrafficking@medinacountychildrenscenter.org for more information.
