What We Do

Our Mission is to nurture abused and neglected children through collaboration, advocacy, treatment, and prevention.

We are a child-oriented facility, which serves as a centralized location for interviewing and examining children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse.
Our main focus is the health and wellness of the child. Members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) help the child and family cope with the abuse and begin the recovery process.

The Children's Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Reporting Abuse

If you suspect a child is being abused, it should be reported to Medina County Job and Family Services (MCJFS) at

If a child is in immediate danger, please call 911.

The longer abuse continues, the greater the potential for serious and long-term emotional and psychological difficulties are for the child.

Volunteer Opportunities

At the Children's Center of Medina County (CCMC) there are several opportunities for volunteers.

The following is a list of areas where we need help:

Committees: We need individuals to help with planning, organizing, coordinating, and participating in our yearly events.

ommunity Events: We are in need of individuals to man our outreach table at community events. This involves passing out information about the Children's Center and many times includes helping children with specific crafts.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Children's Center, we would like to schedule a time to meet you and for you to tour the facilty.
Please take a moment to complete and return the Volunteer/Intern Application.  Forms can be faxed to (330) 764-8893 or mailed to 200 Highland Drive, Medina OH 44256.  If you have any questions, please contact the Outreach Coordinator at Volunteers@MedinaCountyChildrensCenter.org.

Guidelines for Volunteers:

If volunteers are performing duties at the Center, they will be required to pass a background check and fill out a confidentiality form. Volunteers will not be in contact with any children at the Center. Finally, we prefer volunteers to be 18 and older due to the nature of work we do at the Children's Center.

If volunteers are performing duties through committee work, they will be required to attend planning meetings and may not be required to pass a background check or confidentiality form as it depends on what committee they are volunteering for.

Internships are available on a case by case basis.
