The Children’s Center of Medina County (CCMC) is a child-oriented facility which serves as a centralized location for interviewing and examining children who are victims of sexual abuse. The CCMC’s main focus is the health and wellness of the child. Members of the team help the child and family cope with the abuse and begin the recovery process.

In Medina County, there were 441 investigations of child abuse and neglect in 2013.

The reality is that child abuse is not something that happens in other communities. In 2013, within our community there were 441 investigations and that is only the reported number, there are still many incidents of child abuse occuring that is not reported each year.
Research indicates that 1 out of every 4 girls and 1 out of every 6 boys are sexually assaulted by the age of 18.
This community that we call home, where our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews attend school, play soccer and march in the band, is no exception. Fortunately, healing starts here…
