What We Do

The Children's Center of Medina County (CCMC) is a child-oriented facility, which serves as a centralized location for interviewing and examining children who are victims of sexual abuse. The CCMC's main focus is the health and wellness of the child. Members of the multidisciplinary team help the child and family cope with the abuse and begin the recovery process.

Reporting Abuse

If you suspect a child is being abused, it should be reported to Medina County Job and Family Services (MCJFS) at

330-661-0800.

If a child is in immediate danger, please call 911.

The longer abuse continues, the greater the potential for serious and long-term emotional and psychological difficulties are for the child.

May is National Foster Care Month......
A time to recognize the foster parents, volunteers, policymakers, child welfare professional and others who work to help children in foster care.

Each one of us can play a part; we have the power to do something positive that will change a lifetime for a young person in foster care. They need – and deserve – caring adults who love and support them.  Foster Parents provide love on a daily basis. They are a key part of enhancing the lives of children and youth.

It is a time to raise awareness about the urgent needs of these young people and encourages citizens from every walk of life to get involved – as foster or adoptive parents, volunteers, mentors, employers or in other ways.
